I’ve also made it a point to focus on trusting Him for my life and my family. Daily quiet time with Him is my goal, but I’m not perfect, it doesn’t always happen. I think the biggest difference this summer though has been my stress and anxiety! I’ve made a lot more effort to spend time with God this summer. Donut Dash in September and Run Turkey Run in November are the two that I’m planning on. If I can squeeze in a run on my own great, but if not I know I’ve still gotten exercise in and I’m teaching my kids the basics for their own workout routines someday! My goal for the year is to run in 2 5K races this year. If the kids want to go for a run with me, I go for an easy run/walk with them and depending on how long we are out I will count that as my workout. When the weather is nice, I try to do at least one bike ride and at least one run each week. I try to pick from those workouts at least once every other week or every week depending on the weather. I have Apple Fitness + included in my Apple package so it doesn’t cost me anything extra to use it. I try to workout at least 3 times each week, 4 to 5 is preferred, but 3 is my minimum. Rather than trying to make my life fit the mold of someone else’s workout schedule, I am using what I already have access to in a way that works for me. I’ve also done my own thing for workouts. I also try to eat a smaller lunch so if dinner includes pasta or potatoes I can enjoy it, again in smaller than my previous portions! Some days are better than others, but I’ve noticed a huge difference in my appetite! I might get hungry just as often as I always do, but I don’t eat nearly as much before getting full! Then, if the opportunity presents itself later I can eat a small dessert without feeling like I’ve over eaten for the day. I try to pass on sweets during the day in case I want a dessert or something sweet after dinner. I haven’t eliminated anything, but I don’t just grab whatever sounds good whenever I want. I’m doing my own thing! I have started to pay close attention to what I eat. So, this summer I decided to try something new. I also really didn’t want to pay for a workout program just to get depressed when I eventually stopped doing it again! mother, and my mother-in-law!), I already have enough challenges coming up with a meal plan. I didn’t really want to diet, because with 7 people living in our house (3 kids, me, my husband, my. I started trying to come up with a new plan. When I realized I had reached my highest weight other than during pregnancy I started to care a bit more! Especially when I realized I was only about 10 pounds below my highest pregnancy weight! Throughout the winter, I managed to gain back what little weight I had lost plus an extra pound or two. It was a great program, but I just couldn’t seem to drop any weight! I didn’t see a lot of weight loss, but I felt great! I did see some inches come off, but not much. Last summer (2021), I did 30 Day Breakaway with Beach Body. I’ve written other posts about running so I won’t get into all those up and downs, but short story, there have been a lot! Since then, I’ve been running off and on. Although, until this summer it was my most successful! So, eventually it became another fizzled out fitness streak. I tried to keep doing modified workouts, but it just wasn’t healing and I eventually just stopped working out. The second week, I was doing one of the workouts without the right shoes on and somehow I strained my achilles tendon. ![]() Then I tried to change it up with 21 Day fix. The best part was that I had fun while I was doing it! Then I got pregnant with my daughter and over the pregnancy didn’t keep up with the workouts.įast forward a few years and I feel in love with PiYo! If you haven’t done it, I highly recommend it! It combines Pilates and Yoga and really strengthens your whole body! It is an 8 week program that I went through once and then repeated the last four weeks a few more times. It was amazing! I loved it and lost most of the baby weight I had gained by using the Wii each day for about 45 minutes to an hour. ![]() When my twins were toddlers, I was using the Wii Fit game. Not because I plan to stop, it just seems to work out that way. ![]() Usually, the longest I will stick to a plan is about 6 months. A lot of them have been really good, and some just haven’t captured my attention. Over the years, I have tried a variety of work out plans.
